Cal and I planted some plants in a garden in May, watermelon, bell pepper, basil and zucchini by seed and tomatoes and jalapeños as pre-started. Since then, they have absolutely exploded. The tomato plan has sprawled around the plot, three feet in any direction, the zucchini plant has leaves bigger than my head and the jalapeños are almost two feet tall.
We harvested our first zucchini and jalapeños today. The zucchini had just began to grow on Thursday before we went out of town and by the time we came back it was this big (head-sized). Ideally we would pick them smaller for better flavor but this thing exploded over the weekend. We are so excited for what's growing now! So many fresh tomato salads on the way.
