Strawberry-Picking

A few weeks ago, Cal surprised me by taking me strawberry picking for the first time in my life and we picked four pints of berries... and found it hard to stop (well, if it weren't for the humid heat that was making us sweat nonstop). After we realized exactly how many berries we picked, we freaked out for a while and then came up with the great idea of making our own jam with them. We each made slightly different recipes, mine was based off of a confiture recipe (strawberries, sugar and lemon juice) and Cal's off of one that also used pectin and different quantities. He thinks his is the best (but mine is). His is thicker, mine is more fluid and can be spooned onto toast.

This was our first experience with canning and it was really easy and our jars are still safely sealed.
