As a special new year treat, my department got to go to a nice restaurant in Hartford at the top of a building. It had a really beautiful skyline.
The dinner was a pre-set menu that you could make selections from, but started with a surprise tasting round—a blood orange and fluke carpaccio. And I ate it. For the first time in my life, I ate raw fish... and it was... fishy. I don't really like fish, people! This was a sacrifice for decorum.
Anyway, it was a three-course meal. I started off with a kale salad, then ate a monkfish and lobster knuckle main course (well that throws my whole shpeal about not liking fish out the window!), then had a chocolate dessert that was like four different types of chocolate with gelato. Very, very, very good.
Thanks work!
PS It is so hard to type on a QWERTY keyboard now. Not know what I'm talking about? Go here.
