Being from California, the process of making maple syrup and other syrup products is infinitely interesting to me. I also discovered the joys of maple candy for the first time thanks to Calvin's mom and it is amazing. On Saturday, Cal and I went to a sugar shack (it just sounds great, right?) and it was so cool. They had all sorts of maple candies, different kinds of maple syrup in different types of containers including glass maple leaves, plastic jugs, and metal canisters. It was a wonderland. They make all of their maple candy products on site (I'm not sure about the other ones) in another building that you can watch. Unfortunately they weren't making any the day we went, but they make it all year long so we'll hopefully see it sometime soon!
