This time last year, I was celebrating Toussaint in France with a ten-day vacation from classes, a failed trip to Madrid that lasted one day and celebrating Halloween in France with my study abroad friends through a toga night and a costume night. Toussaint, or All Saint's Day is a national holiday in France and because it fell on a Tuesday, the French "made the bridge" and didn't start classes until Wednesday that week. Prior to that, it was fall vacation, thus ten magical baguette-filled days.
Unfortunately, the government here just doesn't care about November 1! So I went to work and celebrated by taking Cal to go buy discounted Halloween candy and eggnog. (The eggnog's just for me.)
