Yield to Pedestrians

Surprisingly, one of the things I miss most about Boston is aggressive driving and aggressive walking. You know, like when pedestrians are aware of the flow of traffic and j-walk when there are no cars. But here drivers are so POLITE that even if they have plenty of room to pass without hitting me (the pedestrian) they stop anyway, forcing me to walk faster or just be a jerk. Have you ever felt bad about making a driver stop and wait for you to walk? Or irritated about someone not using common sense in order to let you go?
