While I was in Northampton a couple days ago, I saw half an ice sculpture on the sidewalk outside a business (partially melted, I decided) and thought about how weird that was. Then, outside another business, I found this gem of a piece with two penguins with a heart beneath them. And then I saw more, and more, and more. My hypothesis is that the city is having some type of ice sculpture contest attached to businesses or something of that nature. There were some really good ones, some half-done ones, some half-broken ones and some that didn't get past the base. Whatever the reason, I thought it was such a nice idea to liven up the act of walking around downtown that I wanted to share with you!
