Biarritz

Today, Catalina and I finished class at 11 AM for the whole day, which was amazing. Wednesday's rock. We were eating lunch at La Vague when we were invited to go to the beach for the rest of the day and of course we said yes, so within about half an hour, we were on our way to Biarritz. I got wicked car sick on the way there and on the way back, but it didn't spoil the trip, luckily. Our friend went surfing and Catalina, I and another friend went walking along the beach, got some ice cream, you know, the usual French stuff. Then we went to make a wish under the statue of Madonna.

In Biarritz, there is a statue sitting atop a tunnel-like path that was designed by Gustave Eiffel (the same guy who designed the tower) that takes you to a look-out point on the ocean. Our French professor told us on Monday that your first time in Biarritz, it's a tradition to make a wish as you walk under the statue, and it will come true. So that's what we did!! I wished for something awesome, trust me.

I spoke lots of French, walked a lot, got my jeans wet in the ocean and explored another part of France. I think it was a successful day.
